CONGRATULATIONS to SWIMATLANTA!

** Kathleen Hersey and Eric Shanteau make US Olympic Team!!! **
Congratulations to SwimAtlanta’s Kathleen Hersey (The Roswell Pool) 200 fly and Eric Shanteau (Sugarloaf and Texas) 200 breast, on qualifying for the 2008 US Olympic Team at last week's Olympic Trials in Omaha. They both are headed to the Beijing Olympics and are presently at the USA Swimming training camp in Palo Alto California for the next 18 days before heading to the pre-Olympic camp in Singapore then onto Beijing. It is a tremendous honor and we are all very proud of them! They continue SwimAtlanta’s long tradition of placing swimmers on the US Olympic team (1988, 1992, 2004 and now 2008)! That is 6 Olympians in our history and is quite an achievement! Good Luck Kathleen and Eric! GO USA!

CHRISTMAS TRAINING CAMP 2008-2009 - Upon announcing SwimAtlanta's plans to take swimmers to Sarasota, Florida for a Christmas Training Camp, we have had only eight swimmers sign-up for the trip.  Although the deadline to submit your swimmer's name and the $50 deposit is not until June 1st, if we do not have more people interested, we will have no choice but to cancel the Christmas Training Camp.  We have looked forward to the Christmas Training Camp in Sarasota, Florida, so our hope is that more swimmers will sign-up for the trip between now and June 1st.
